Considering adding orthotics to your course of treatment? Make an appointment with your recommended chiropractor to talk about how custom orthotics might reduce your discomfort.

Allergies

Your allergies may become less severe and more frequent with chiropractic care. (1) Chiropractic does not provide immediate, short-term relief from allergies as an antihistamine does. Your body is better able to combat allergens because of chiropractic.

Your immune system reacts to an allergen (substances that ordinarily have no impact on people) to cause allergies, which can cause symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, congestion, hives, rashes, and, in extreme cases, seizures and anaphylactic shock. The histamines your immune system produces in an effort to defend your body against the allergen is what cause these symptoms.

Disc Problems

The vertebrae of the spine are separated by intervertebral discs. A disc has a jelly-like liquid in the center and cartilage on the exterior. These discs have a variety of functions, including providing space between the vertebrae, allowing the spine to move, and acting as shock absorbers. The disc's gelatinous center enables it to contract and expand in response to movement and impact. Spinal trauma can result in disc herniation, bulging, displacement (slipped disc), or even rupture. But there are other factors involved besides trauma or direct harm to the area. The discs may start to deteriorate and dry as we age. These disorders may irritate the spinal nerves and result in discomfort.

Whiplash

People hurt in vehicle accidents frequently suffer from whiplash. The neck violently snaps back and forth when a car is hit from behind or collides with another object. Overextension of the muscles and ligaments, as a result, creates strains and/or tears. Damage to soft tissues is what this is known as, and it can make you stiff and hurt. Due to the overextension from the sudden movement, whiplash can also result in structural damage such as misaligned vertebrae, herniated, bulging, or ruptured discs, or nerve damage.

Osteoarthritis

The deterioration of the cartilage between joints is the primary cause of arthritis. The knees, hips, back, neck, hands, and wrist are some of the key joints that are impacted. In addition to making the affected parts unpleasant, arthritis can also impair proper function. A different joint may develop arthritis or other issues as a result of arthritis in one region. For instance, if you have left knee arthritis, you can compensate by putting extra strain on your right side, which could cause difficulties with your right hip.

Joint Dysfunction

Joint dysfunction happens when movement is limited and joints become stiff. Injuries, bad posture, overuse or underuse of a joint, muscle imbalances, and other causes can all contribute to it. Joint dysfunction, such as arthritis, can hurt the joint and the muscles around it, and it can also lead to issues in other regions of the body owing to overcompensation.

Sacroiliac joint dysfunction, which develops where the pelvis and base of the spine meet, is one typical type of joint dysfunction. It limits movement and creates lower back pain. As a result of the symptoms being similar to those of sciatica or a herniated disc, this ailment is frequently misunderstood.

Neck/Back Pain

Subluxations, or misaligned vertebrae, commonly cause pain along the spinal column in the neck or back. Pain can be brought on by a slight misalignment that puts pressure on the nerves. These subluxations can result in muscular spasms and intensifying discomfort if left untreated. Your spine will receive a healthy alignment during a chiropractic adjustment, relieving strain on your joints and nerves. It is a direct treatment for the pain's underlying cause rather than a band-aid solution like painkillers or massage. Visit us right away if your back or neck hurts.

Headaches

Many people think that stress, fatigue, and loud noise are the main causes of headaches. While all of these things may contribute to headaches, tension in the shoulders and neck is the actual culprit. Your neck's vertebrae may become out of alignment as a result of the strain, causing pain. Eighty percent of headaches come from the neck. A person typically has pain that begins at the base of the skull and spreads to the temples, eyeballs, and forehead with a classic cervicogenic (neck origin) headache. The muscles in your neck and shoulders can be massaged to relieve stress, and a chiropractic adjustment can straighten your neck's vertebrae. Chiropractic care can help treat the root of your headaches rather than just masking the symptoms.

Sciatica

Sciatica is a disorder brought on by irritation of the sciatic nerve. Muscle spasms, bulging discs, and spinal subluxations can all exacerbate the sciatic nerve's pressure. When this occurs, the lower back and leg experience discomfort, numbness, and weakness. The cause of the condition must be identified and adequately addressed in order to effectively treat sciatica. You can accomplish this with the aid of your chiropractor.

Pinched Nerve

A "pinched nerve" is a nerve that has been crushed or squeezed. Spinal misalignments, bulging or ruptured discs, or other causes may be to blame for this. Inflammation, discomfort, and occasionally muscular spasms are brought on by the increased pressure on the nerve. To reduce the pain, the pressure on the nerve must be released. An examination can identify the source of the discomfort, and an adjustment can treat the source of the pain while also correctly aligning the spine to reduce the pain.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Those who use computers are most frequently linked to this illness. When done incorrectly and often, the motion of typing can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. Pain, numbness, weakness, or a burning sensation are some of the symptoms. The nerves in the fingertips run up the arm and into the neck from the wrist. Your chiropractor can treat the discomfort in your hands and wrists with targeted spinal and joint adjustments because the spine serves as the hub of the neurological system.

Maintenance Care

Numerous conditions that can be treated with chiropractic care have been covered. Preventing these diseases before they even begin is the best approach to treating them. Regular chiropractic appointments can aid in avoiding accidents and physical ailments. Regular chiropractic visits may also help you feel more flexible and mobile, have more energy, have better posture, have a more effective immune system, have better circulation, and feel better overall.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is an illness about which little is currently known. There is no known cause, and it could be caused by a wide range of factors. Chronic pain, primarily in the joints, is the primary symptom of fibromyalgia. It is possible for the pain to be dull, aching, radiating, scorching, shooting, or any combination of these. In addition, fibromyalgia has been linked to additional illnesses like insomnia, headaches, depression, and anxiety.
